The Art of Buddhist Meditation – 6 Week Course

June 2 @ 19:00 21:00

6 Tuesday evenings, 7pm-9pm, starting Tuesday 2nd June 2026 at the Cardiff Buddhist Centre

When we learn a new skill we begin with a technique, we watch, we listen and then with a deep breath we begin. Then with practice we become skillful, until the time comes when we no longer need the technique, we are doing it without thinking, we are beyond the technique as the skill becomes second nature.

We can go still further, by refining and developing the skill until it becomes a creative art form, the act itself is a thing of beauty. Meditation can become like this, it has the power to lift our hearts and raise our spirits. It can even take us beyond our self, beyond our limits. But how?

This practical course, which is suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike, will take you beyond mindfulness into the fullness of Buddhist meditation. Led by Sagaradana and Candrapriya, expect a mix of instruction, practice, discussion and ritual.

The course will be based around 6 themes…

1. MEDITATION IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK.
2. A HUMAN BEING OR A HUMAN DOING.
3. FINDING STILLNESS AT THE CENTRE OF THE STORM.
4. GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER.
5. HAPPINESS AND THE CAUSES OF HAPPINESS.
6. NO ONE EVER STEPS IN THE SAME RIVER TWICE.

So if you’re looking to learn or explore Buddhist meditation, join us for this exciting course!
