October 24 @ 10:00 – 16:00
Join Candrapriya for a spiritual pilgrimage in the Welsh hills
A Yatra is a sanskrit word meaning journey, travel or pilgrimage. All three major branches of Buddhist go on pilgrimage. Travelling from one holy site to another is not just a physical journey from one place to another, it’s an inward spiritual journey that takes us deeper and deeper. On this Yatra we will be exploring the idea of self, and using the natural world as the key to unlock how we relate our experience of self and other.
The Yatra will be held high in the hill’s just south of the Brecon Beacons national park, and will last for around six hours. You do not need to be particular fit. There is transport up into the hills, once there the ground is undulating, mostly on good tracks but some rougher ground by design. We will walk for no more than an hour at a time then sit for a period.
Wear appropriate clothing and footwear. (Spare socks, sweater, warm hat and full waterproofs). Something to sit on, a poncho is great for sitting in the rain. A packed lunch, water and a flask.
Open to all men who attend the Cardiff Buddhist Centre. Please book a free ticket to confirm your attendance.
