Retreat Day for Women Mitras and OMs

Saddhanandi is a guest Order member who lives at Adhisthana retreat centre in Herefordshire, as part of the Dharma teaching team. This day is an  opportunity to study the Dharma with an experienced Order member, who knew Sangharakshita personally and has a long lived experience of integrating his teachings into her life.

‘We need someone who can see and draw out who we are, or rather who we are becoming. Each of us has an inner world, full of thoughts and feelings that are amorphous or embryonic: we can only give them their proper shape through communication. Whenever we succeed in communicating them, we are changed, becoming someone new.” (Subhuti)

We’ll use the day to explore the theme of friendship within the Sangha using various extracts from Sangharakshita and others. We’ll look at friendship as a path to greater awareness and individuality through discussion and reflection: exploring the nature of individuality and how that can impact on our communication with each other.

I hope the day will not only be a chance to discuss friendship but also be an experience of developing friendship with other women living around Cardiff and Swansea – each one of us practising the dharma, a path of growth and development within this Sangha.

NB. We won’t have a big shared lunch during this event, but we ask that you bring your own food – perhaps a sandwich and a snack – whatever you need for the day which will be split across two longer breaks.
