Free Study Morning – Mystery of The Void

August 15 @ 10:00 13:00

On Saturday 15th August there is a chance to meditate and study together on the Buddhist idea and experience of Shunyata, often translated as emptiness, or more enigmatically translated as the Mystery of the Void.

Led by Sagaradana, this morning will open discussion about what the idea of shunyata points to and how it can be motiving in our lives. No preparation is necessary, as you will be reading and reflecting on the words of the great sage Nagarjuna who said ‘Shunyata is a medicine for the cure of all possible attachments’.

One may be as eloquent and insightful as one likes, but shunyata will always remain ultimately a mystery, even the greatest of all mysteries, so far as the Buddha’s teaching is concerned. It cannot be fully explained or described, but we can get a sense of how it can help us live our lives more fully.

The morning is suitable for anyone who has attended a course at the CBC or other Triratna Centre

Free event, no need to book, donations welcome on the day of the event. If you can, please bring something for a shared vegan lunch to end the morning.
