Film night: Natural Born Killers
Natural Born Killers, directed by Oliver Stone, is perhaps a controversial choice for a Buddhist film night, as it follows the exploits of serial killers Mickey and Mallory as they go on a rampage across America. Far from glorifying violence, however, it holds up an uncomfortable mirror to modern society and its reality TV mentality that delights is gawping at other people’s misfortune. A shocking film, for sure, but for reasons that are subtle. (Chosen and introduced by Marc Buehner)
The film will start at 7pm. If you want, you can join us for dinner from 6pm (please bring a vegan dish to share).
Film nights, like much of the rest of Cardiff Buddhist Centre, can take place because of the generosity of people who come along.
If you can, please pay what you feel it is worth to you — we suggest £5.
We hope to see you there.
