‘Awakening the Heart’ Retreat with Tejananda
What?
Unconditional love (metta) and the other divine abodes (brahmavihara) are heart-qualities that we first develop through bhavana practices. But, ultimately, they are qualities or expressions of our heart’s deepest awareness and sensitivity. The heart’s awareness is essentially beyond ‘me’ as a separate being – in fact, it is an opening from our own deepest heart to the bodhicitta, the heart of awakening itself.
In this weekend retreat, we’ll open to the divine abodes via awareness of our body, heart and heart-space. We’ll also explore the practice of ‘receiving and sending’ (tonglen) as an orientation to the wisdom and compassion of our true heart of hearts – the bodhicitta.
