SUMMARY:Becoming a Bodhisattva - A Practical Course in Compassion
DESCRIPTION:6 Week Course – Suitable for All \n\n\n\nHow can we look after our own wellbeing while also responding to the suffering of others? That question lies at the heart of the Bodhisattva ideal: seeking Enlightenment not for ourselves alone\, but for the sake of all beings. \n\n\n\nIt’s an ambitious ideal. What can it mean for us\, here and now? \n\n\n\nWithin Buddhism\, the Bodhisattva ideal also lives as myth\, in figures embodying compassion in forms that speak to the imagination. Through meditation and simple ritual\, we’ll explore the quiet magic that lets their qualities begin to awaken in us\, so compassion can become a motivation\, a practice and a source of joy. \n\n\n\nLed by Buddhist teacher Vishvapani\, the course will run for 6 Tuesday evenings\, 7:00-9:00 pm\, starting 10th November. Free bursary tickets are available for anyone who wishes to attend but is unable to afford the event. Suitable for beginners or more experienced members of the sangha.
