SUMMARY:Dharma Day Festival
DESCRIPTION:Dharma Day is one of the three main Buddhist festivals. \n\n\n\nWhen the Buddha gained Enlightenment\, he understood how things really are. As Buddhism says: he realised ‘the Dharma’. The next challenge was to help others see the same reality\, and that meant formulating ideas they could reflect on and practices they could undertake. The Dharma in this sense means the teachings that form a path to wisdom\, compassion and liberation. \n\n\n\nOn Dharma Day we’ll celebrate the Dharma in both senses with a meditation\, a talk\, discussion and ritual. The day will start with the two meditation groups we usually have on a Sunday – so beginners are welcome to attend. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a day of reflection\, insight and the Buddha’s words\, all led by Padmabodhini and Alokasanya. \n\n\n\nSuitable for all\, free entry\, no need to book. If you are able to\, please bring something for a shared vegan lunch \n\n\n\nSchedule for the day… \n\n\n\n10 – 11am – Regular Sunday morning meditation with group for necomers and one for experienced meditators.11 – 11.20 – Tea break11.20 – 12.00 – Talk from Padmabodhini – ‘The Stillness of the Enlightened Buddha’12.00 – 12.30 – Discussion groups12.30 – 12.45 – Break12.45 – 1.30 – 7 fold puja (Buddhist ritual)1.30 – 3pm Shared vegan lunch (bring something to contribute to it if possible)
